Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the group knows exactly where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the secret base, assaulting the character, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then settled his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the influential clan could enable the group enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Questers and Planners tables.
Audiences can anticipate discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
